Miami Home Office

I’m so excited to share the first complete room of Harry and my Miami home!

With the pandemic this year and having a boyfriend who is quite literally a workoholic, it became clear that having a home office would be necessary in our next place. Woohoo! No more being woken up by business meetings and calls in our West Hollywood studio.

Harry and I have very similar taste when it comes to interior design. Modern, minimal, and with a French flair. Due to the style of our place in Miami, and not having white oak herringbone floors (#goals) we decided to go for a modern, retro look to accompany our white marble floors.

Walls

I loved the idea of having a black accent wall so one weekend when Harry went back to LA, I went to Sherwin Williams and bought a can of Black Magic paint to paint the wall. It was actually a very easy task and added a unique element to the room.

This black shelf is from IKEA and was under $30! It’s not quite black, it’s a VERY dark brown that is the same color as the printer table and honestly looks like a smokey black. He loves to read and has a great collection of books so I wanted to give him a sleek bookshelf to show them off and add some fun accents. His signed Mayweather glove and Daniel Cohen’s Dose of Diamonds artwork really brought the shelf to life. Plus, the alcohol helps too! LOL.

Above the sofa is a collection of 5 skate decks that are a collaboration with Basquiat. There is a funny story behind these skate decks and they were literally sitting under our bed in LA, but I won’t go into that and I think they add a cool masculine touch!

Daniel Cohen is such an awesome artist and he did a custom American Express “black card” that says Print Money, with the cardholder being the Federal Reserve. We loved the idea of it going over the printer.

Furniture

Most of the office furniture is from Article, but Harry insisted on getting an adjustable height desk so when he saw this executive desk that was actually adjustable, it was a no brainer for him and to his credit, it does look great and fits perfectly. We went with the Mocha color.

The printer table is actually a nightstand from Target which fits the huge printer and record player perfectly.

The ottoman is one of my favorite pieces of the room because it has a houndstooth pattern which I felt was very British, right?? I mean Harry is a Brit so I wanted to find something that represented his heritage without it being a flag because he wasn’t into that.

We love the Design Within Reach Modo Chandelier but found this one on Wayfair for a fraction of the cost and love the way it looks in the space.

I had so much fun designing this space because it was so different than any of the girly spaces I’ve done before!
