Current Haircare Routine

Hey guys! It has been a long time since I’ve posted about my haircare routine and the products I have been loving and using! I just got a haircut (my hair has been growing so quickly here in Miami due to the humidity) and I felt like it would be the perfect time to share all my tips + favorite products!

If you haven’t visited my blog before or are unfamiliar with my blogging style, just know everything I post is genuine and I’m 1000% transparent when it comes to my opinions and products I recommend so please know you can trust me and my recommendations!

Let’s start with washing. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week depending on how active I am. Fortunately for me, my hair does not get greasy like I could literally go 10 days without any grease but gross LOL. I have a very dry scalp although since moving to Miami I’ve definitely noticed it is not nearly as dry as Los Angeles. Due to my dry scalp, I’ve used Head and Shoulders forever because it’s literally the GOAT and doesn’t smell like sulfur. I give my scalp and upper sections of my hair a good scrub and thoroughly wash it out using water that is not scorching hot, as that further irritates a dry scalp. I use the Matrix Dark Envy toning conditioner because I thought the balayage look was cute on me at the time and now, 2 years later, I have red and orange peeking through and this conditioner really works to neutralize those undertones. I don’t really do any hair masks because my hair is very healthy, but I use the Matrix Dark Envy mask every so often to avoid going to the salon to get a toner. If you use this mask, make sure to use it in the shower as it stains your hands a bit but by the time you’re done washing yourself the stain is gone. If you don’t have brown hair, check out the other Matrix Total Results color lines here.

After the shower I use a Turbie Twist hair towel, they are the best and I’ve been using them for legit 10 years. I get mine on Amazon here. I use the cotton ones, not the microfiber. I keep my hair in a towel for about 10 minutes while I moisturize and take some me time. After the towel comes off, I use the Frizz Serum from Living Proof, it smells unreal and find that when I add about half of the dropper into my hair, then brush it out, it really works its way into all the grooves of my wavy hair. For some women, they can own frizz and it looks bomb on their beautiful curls, for me… I look like a crazy cave women so especially here in Miami, this frizz serum is KEY.

I like to blow my hair our after I let it air dry for another 10 minutes or so while I do my makeup. If it’s a hair wash day, you better believe I’m going somewhere or want to make myself look presentable since I’m usually in workout clothing with my hair in a messy bun. I love my Ibiza cork round brush for smoothing and my Drybar round brush for fast drying. I use the GHD hair dryer and have been for a while, its held up well and it drys my hair great! I know it’s expensive but I personally think it is worth investing in a powerful blowdryer that will last. I loved my Dyson AirWrap too, although it takes a sec to get the hang of it, it’s amazing but unfortunately I left it in LA because it was an awkward item to pack. Linking all the items I use below:
