3 Post-Traveling Detox Tips

We all know that the struggle is real after traveling! The late nights, plane rides, and big meals that come along with a vacation and when you come home from a trip and try to get back into the swing of things, it can be tough. I wanted to share with you guys my favorite simple ways of detoxing after taking a vacation that are sure to have you back on your feet in no time!

  1. Drink water - I drink a ton of water. Water is essential for your body and it's ability to rehabilitate after a vacation. Flying is very dehydrating so I will buy a large bottle of water at the airport in efforts to force myself to drink it! Water will help your digestive system, immune system, and also help you beat the bloat that many experiencing when traveling due to alcohol, lack of sleep, and flying!
  2. Sleep - Traveling can be exhausting! For those who are sensitive to jet lag, it may feel like you barely are able to sleep on vacation. For me, I deal with jet lag the most when I come back from a vacation and can't sleep in, which makes me feel lethargic for a couple days. The best thing you can do to wake up feeling rejuvenated is go to sleep early and aim for 8-10 hours. If you can do this the day you get home, I guarantee you will wake up feeling like a million bucks! Normally, I am able to go to bed early and get a great night sleep a couple days after I get back, but the sooner the better!
  3. Exercise - Even though I am tired and not in the mood to exercise after a vacation, getting your heart rate up in order to sweat the toxins out is the best thing you can do. I took a thirty minute walk with my dog and it did the trick! Typically your body will sweat more than usual the first couple times you exercise after a vacation because it's flushing out all of the toxins and excess water built up during your travels! If you belong to a gym, a sauna or steamroom will help this process too!

Hope this helps!
