5 Places to Take a First Timer in New York

If you couldn't already tell from my blog posts and my Instagram, I just got back from a 17 day trip to New York for Fashion Week and meetings! My job is so unique because I can literally work from anywhere in the world, as long as I have WiFi of course! New York City is one of those places that I fell in love with when I went for the first time as a 10 year old. The busy streets, the subway, the constant noise of honking horns, the food, the nightlife, the work ethic; everything is very much alive. My dad is originally from Queens and his side of my family still lives back East so we visit frequently. After seeing my fair share of broadway shows, visiting tourist attractions and museums, etc., I thought I would share my top 5 with you!

Top of The Rock at Rockefeller Center

Amazing views of the Manhattan skyline and more! It's cool to be above the buildings for a change.

911 Memorial Site

This memorial holds a very special place in my heart. It is beyond touching and an emotional reminder of what was one of the darkest days in the history of the United States.

Central Park

A must! Central Park is so beautiful during any time of the year and it is filled with greenery and crisp fresh air! I suggest going for a walk in the park and either going ice skating in the winter, or going for a boat ride on the lake in the fall. There is always a ton going on in the park and it is HUGE.

Times Square

Times Square is another one of those places that you have to go see, even just for a few minutes! My favorite time to go is at night when it is so bright from all the lights that it feels like the daytime. It's incredible and if you are lucky and it is late enough, you may get to experience the magic without a ton of other tourists!

Dumbo, Brooklyn

I have been to Brooklyn a few times and I had never gone to Dumbo. Dumbo is home to iconic views of the Hudson and the Manhattan skyline and there are cute coffee shops, amazing restaurants like Cecconi's, and Jane's Carousel, a beautiful carousel on the Hudson that is enclosed in glass. You can also just go for a stroll along the water during sunset which is what I did and I instantly fell in love!
