Favorite Healthy Food Spots in NYC

Favorite Healthy Food Spots in NYC

After living in New York City for nearly 3 months now, I have finally found some amazing health food places that are suitable for the girl who is always on the go, like myself. My diet consists of fresh produce, chicken, and fish, and I try to avoid processed foods entirely (bread, dairy, sugar). I workout daily (Soul Cycle or Pilates) so eating healthy is essential to my lifestyle. I love smoothies and salads even during the colder months. Here are my favorite healthy food spots in NYC and what I order at each of them:

Hu Kitchen

Hu Kitchen is amazing. I was first introduced to this place by one of my friends who was a model about 3 years ago when I was visiting NYC. Everything is organic and everything is labeled according to food allergies like dairy and gluten. I love their almond crusted chicken tenders and their gluten-free, dairy-free chocolate chip cookies. They are AMAZING. I also love their chocolate bars specifically the almond butter dark chocolate one. Their ingredients are top of the line and you can tell by the quality of their food. It is a bit pricey but it's honestly worth it.

Sweetgreen

I love Sweetgreen. It's basically the healthy salad version of Chipotle LOL. My favorite salads from their menu are the Kale Caesar, the OMG Omega, and the Harvest Bowl. You can also make your own salad which is great and your whole meal is around $10. Sometimes their is quite a line, so I like to order online and you literally walk in and pick it up off the shelf. So great if you are in a hurry and want to eat something healthy and fresh.

Juice Press

Juice Press is probably my favorite smoothie place in NYC. Their Clean Green Protein is my favorite green protein smoothie. I also love their raw protein bars which are made in house and are super fresh and healthy. They have a grab and go section with fresh foods like salads and parfaits that are also great for something quick and easy. I hear their soups are great too! I have to give those a try. The smoothies are about the same price as a salad at about $10.

Liquiteria

Liquiteria is my go-to açaí bowl place! I love their PB bowl and their Mean Green Acai bowl so much. They also have great oatmeal and smoothies too! They have tons of locations and their prices are very fair. If you are into healthy eating Liquiteria's are literally all over the place and usually it's a quick process to order and get your food which is perfect if you are crunched for time.
