What to do During a Rainy Day in LA

It hardly rains in LA, but when it does it's like the city does not function, here's what to do

What to do During a Rainy Day in LA

Whether you are visiting LA or are an LA native like myself, when it rains it can be super depressing and the city kinda shuts down. I wanted to put together a post sharing what I think are the best things to do during a rainy day in LA to not let the rain get you down or put you on a binge watching spree like it does for me. My favorite thing about LA are the many different areas which all feel entirely different. From West Hollywood, to Downtown, to Echo Park, and beyond, each are has its own feel and character. Rainy days are not necessarily the best for exploring that, but you can still get a great trip out of your visit to LA or on a day-date during a rainy day.

Museums

Los Angeles is home to some amazing museums! My favorite it the Broad in Downtown, Los Angeles. It's filled with interactive art and it's full of color and photo opportunities. I have never been to any other museum like it. If you are in the downtown area, the Broad is a must. LACMA in the West Hollywood area is more traditional but it is home to some of the most famous artworks in the world. LACMA also makes for a fun rainy day photo op under the so-called "forrest of city lights."

Malls

The best malls in LA that are inclosed are the Beverly Center, West Field Topanga, South Coast Plaza (Orange County), and the Westside Pavillion. When it's not raining the Grove, and the Century City Mall are my favorite and both so beautiful!

Beyond

This category is vague, lol, but when I was thinking of what else you could do on a rainy day I considered these ideas:

  • Go to a fitness class, all of my favorites are indoors like Soul Cycle, Pilates, Rumble Boxing, and Platefit!

  • Go see a movie (no brainer in my opinion).

  • Go to a friends house and have a rainy day snuggle session.

  • Do some baking!

  • Work on a DIY project or organize your home.

  • Have a spa day, the Now is great for massages!

Also, side note, I posted a new IGTV for you to get to know me better. Check it out: https://www.instagram.com/tv/Bsq4GvNhZSp/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1u90sjz1839ij
