Travel Guide: Joshua Tree, California
A bit of background
This past weekend I visited Joshua Tree with one of my best girl friends. Before making the two and a half hour car journey from West Hollywood to our Airbnb, I had no idea what to expect. Joshua Tree National Park is one of the largest National Parks I have visited and it’s very unique because the terrain varies based on where you enter. It stretches over 1200 square miles, and it is home to various wildlife such as mountain lions, bears (occasionally), snakes, and more. Luckily, we didn't see anything during our two days there, or I would’ve freaked. HA. The town itself is on of the smallest towns I have visited, one coffee shop, three restaurants and a couple of thrift shops. It was a bit bizarre because I kind of expected there to be more to do since it has become such a tourist destination. Nevertheless, it was nice to escape Los Angeles for the weekend and to be in nature. Make sure you have a full tank of gas because everything is super spread out in the desert! Where to stay
Emily and I found the cutest cabin on Airbnb called Little Jo Cabin, it was located about 15 minutes from town (the coffee shop) and about 30 minutes from the two hikes we did. The cabin was furnished with retro appliances and it was very clean! If you are going to visit Joshua Tree this place is great! It can sleep four.
