How to style gingham pieces…

Gingham is seriously everywhere right now and I'm not going to lie, at first sight I thought the pattern resembled a tablecloth. LOL! But since then, the grid-like pattern has grown on me and when I walked into Topshop last weekend, I couldn't resist buying the gingham jean skirt they had on display with only a few left! I paired the skirt with this off-the-shoulder top by ASTR the Label (http://bit.ly/2r1Unab) which is under $60 by the way, and is a great fabric that doesn't get all wrinkly!

How to wear it:

I think gingham looks best paired with one of the solid colors it carries. For example, if you have a red and white gingham skirt, I would pair it with either a red top or a white top. I also think slight ruffles, shown on the top I am wearing in the below photos, and gingham go well together. The ruffles have the ability to elevate your style and add dimension to a look.
