Starting September Down Under
I spent the first week of September down under in Brisbane, Australia
Australia is a place I have always been intrigued by and have always wanted to visit! When I got asked to attend the W Brisbane opening it was a no-brainer that I would say yes to the generous invitation.
The first day I was pretty delirious because of the 14 hour flight to Brisbane from Los Angeles. It was amazing, nonetheless. After checking into the beautiful, new W location, we took a boat to Moreton island to ride quad bikes, watch the sunset, and then feed dolphins that have been visiting the island nightly for years.
The boat ride back was close to 90-minutes and since I was so tired, I fell asleep! The next day, I woke up early to go to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. People travel from all over to go here to feed kangaroos that roam around an open field, as well as get the opportunity to hold a koala. The koala was kinda weird to be honest, it smelled horrible and I felt bad holding it for a photo. The kangaroos were a very unique experience because where else in the world would you be able to do that? It was sick! They also had birds and other animals that were native to Australia for you to look at.
Post the Koala Sanctuary, I headed back to the hotel to get ready for their opening party. Everything was sparky and gold with artistic food and decor to wow the eyes of over 800 attendees. The Veronica’s performed and the crowd was going nuts! Music is such a love of mine because it unites people who have different backgrounds. The party was a whirlwind with endless champagne and photo opportunities, they couldn’t have done a better job!
On my final day, the W team organized a day trip to Byron Bay, a two hour drive away from Brisbane. Byron Bay is cute coastal town famous for its beaches and surfing sights. We stopped at their world famous Farm for lunch. Their branzino as well as their pumpkin hummus were to die for! After touring the farm and eating a delicious meal, we drove to the Byron Bay lighthouse to watch the sunset across the beautiful ocean view. I can't wait to travel to Australia again, I'll definitely be going to Sydney!
