Weleda's Skin Food
Looking and feeling our best comes from a number of things: what we eat, the skincare products we use, and the little things we practice that does our body good. Here is why and how I’ve added the good-for-you skincare from Weleda.
Here’s a glimpse into my day:
Every morning I start off with coffee and answering emails. I need my coffee in the mornings! I’ll drink a full glass of water before and after to get things moving! After coffee, I’ll wash my face and put Weleda’s Skin Food Light on if I’m not going straight to a workout. Skin Food Light is a little lighter version than the Original Skin Food. It is great for warm weather andI love how it feels on my skin, it’s buttery and not too heavy and the rich blend of oils really helps moisturize those areas that are hard to hydrate like under my nose and around my nose as well as my chin.
Next, I’ll go work out, whether it’s a boxing class, spin class, or an at home workout, it’s essential to my productivity to give myself at least 30 minutes of exercise. I drink about a full liter of water while I’m working out. Once, I’m done exercising I will have breakfast, since I like to workout in a fasted state. I’ll have a protein shake with berries, almond milk, and vanilla vegan protein powder, or I’ll have scrambled egg whites with spinach and hummus. During the day I drink so much water, I really don’t care for sodas or juices. I truly think water is the best thing for you.
I exercise 5-6 days a week. I take that time to invest in myself and my well-being. I suffer from anxiety and working out is the only thing that helps me. I find it extremely meditating and when I’m done, even if it’s only 30 minutes, I feel as if a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I’ll shower after eating and moisturize with my favorite body lotion: Weleda’s Skin Food Body Butter. The Body Butter is perfect for my arms because I have Keratosis, which is when skin grows over hair follicles creating tiny red bumps. I’ve been told that the only way to combat these bumps is with a shea butter, super moisturizing cream, just what the body butter is! I’ll put Skin Food Light on my face at this point too!
Since I am always on the go, my lips are ALWAYS dry. Living in Southern California, I think a ton of people deal with this. The beeswax in the Skinfood Lip Butter really hydrates my lips when they need some extra TLC. If I have a crazy busy day ahead I’ll make a list in the Notes App of my phone of everything I have to do. There’s nothing like deleting the last task and knowing you can now chill!
After I’ve completed all my work for the day, I love to relax. Being an influencer, it’s sometimes really hard for me to turn off and be present. At night is when it’s hardest for me to disconnect, regardless of who I am with, I have been practicing leaving my phone in the other room while I eat dinner. I love this, it’s so helpful and it’s a way for my family, or my friends and I to really connect and catch up with each other.
If I am still having trouble unwinding, I’ll take a lavender epsom salt bath and it is absolutely heaven. I’ll listen to some music, and when I start to turn into a prune, I’ll make my way out! At night I am loving using Weleda’s Skin Food Original cream. It is full of nutrients that are perfect for cold weather, and chamomile and calendula extracts are amazing for my cheeks because I suffer from rosacea.
I love using all the Skin Food products at the end of the day because when I know I’m using products that are literally made as food for your skin, it makes all the difference in the world. Implementing a skincare routine day and night is one thing that really makes me feel good. There’s nothing quite like clean skin and good smelling products when you get into bed at night!
